If you were driving under the influence, lawyers arn’t mirical workers who can wave a magic wand and make everything OK
You have to fight it on your own, if you are guilty as sin and don’t stand a chance of winning try plea bargining with the Prosecutor
County defender usually do a real shotty job, but you will be issued one.
But he is a licensed lawyer so he will do what is necessary.
look for free or reduced legal services. you can also try a public defender.
I agree with the first comment. The court must provide you a lawyer. Unless of course you want to represent yourself.
Be aware of the TRUE meaning of “if you cannot afford one. one will be appointed for you”. This is very misleading, almost to a fault. If you own anything that can be sold to hire an attorney, you CAN afford one. Payments can be made if you settle this at the time of the court date.
